the last stages of establishing Primadomus, a permanent sanctuary for
primates in Relleu, Spain. The completion of this
much-needed sanctuary is now under threat. In a complete turnaround, the
mayor of Relleu has unexpectedly withdrawn his written approval. ARGENTINA - Help Needed NOW Imagine the scene - you're a tourist in Argentina and there are lots of stray dogs running around the town. Are you offended by the sight? Well the local officials in the city of Rio Grande, a province of Tierra del Fuego, in the south of Argentina thought you would be so they decided to clean up the streets. A law was passed to allow wardens from the local dog pound to start catching dogs from the streets using rifles with tranquilizers. The dogs would be kept for 24 hours in the facility and, if they were not claimed in that time, would be killed immediately using a gas chamber or poison. What you see below are horrific images of dead dogs. Over 12000 have been killed like this.
